The weekend known as the unofficial end to summer is upon us. If you’re looking for a reason to get out and enjoy, no worries, there’s plenty to do. Here’s a list of traditional fun happenings in and around Detroit this weekend.
-The Michigan State Fair. Will feature live animals, entertainment, a full carnival midway, food, games, vendors and more.
August 28-September 1, at the Suburban Collection Showplace, Novi.
-Detroit Jazz Fest. Featuring local, national, and international Jazz artists. There will also be food, vendors and more. Free admission.
August 29-September 1, at Hart Plaza, Downtown Detroit.
-Arts Beats & Eats. Features 200 music acts, 60 restaurants, artists from around the world and more.
August 29- September 1, Downtown Royal Oak
-Romeo Peach Festival. Features live entertainment, food, full midway with carnival rides, artisan vendors selling handmade items including peach and apple pies. There will also be produce stands from local farms.
August 28-September 1, Downtown Romeo.
