They’re behind songs like “Shining Star,” “Kiss and Say Goodbye,” and “There’s No Me Without You,” and now you have a chance to see the R&B group “The Manhattans” featuring Gerald Alston take the stage in Detroit.
Ahead of the group’s performance in the Motor City, the lead singer of the Grammy-award winning group talked with Tati Amare and April Morton.
“We haven’t been to Detroit in a while, and it’s a great market for us, and we just want to go back down memory lane and sing all of our greatest hits,” Alston said.
The Manhattans have recorded more than 40 hits on the Billboard charts. Alston said the song that stands out most to him personally is “There’s No Me Without,” which he explained is like a theme song for the group.
You can see The Manhattans and The Stylistics, presented by Hollywood Casino at Greektown Friday, September 6th at Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts in Detroit. Tickets are available online.
