Detroit’s Downtown Comeback: Bedrock’s Bold Vision

Developer drives vibrant revitalization with unique mix of brands and experiences

Detroit’s downtown is alive with a newfound vibrancy, buzzing with shops and restaurants. This transformation is no accident; it’s the result of Bedrock’s deliberate and innovative development strategy.

During an appearance on “Live In The D,” Naumann Idrees, Senior Vice President of Leasing at Bedrock, discussed the company’s pivotal role in revitalizing Detroit. “We’ve been curating a mix of local, regional, and national tenants,” Idrees explained. “We’re really excited to announce Allo just opened as our first retail tenant at Hudson’s.” This approach is not just about bringing in big names; it’s also about fostering local talent and maintaining Detroit’s unique character.

Idrees emphasized the importance of balance in Bedrock’s strategy. “We’ve taken a focus of what does the customer want and where are we meeting the community?” This approach is drawing national attention, with Detroit named a top travel destination for 2025.

Bedrock isn’t just building spaces; it’s crafting destinations. From retail to culture, the developer’s focus on community and experience is transforming the city into a place where people want to linger, shop, and explore. “You’re not just coming to shop and dine, but you’re coming to do things,” said Idrees, who added it’s a testament to Bedrock’s commitment to making Detroit a city of endless possibilities.
