Here are a few events happening this weekend

We’re about to head into the first weekend of September, and there’s fun to be had for the entire family. Here’s a list of a few happenings this weekend in metro Detroit.

-Richmond Good Old Days Festival. Featuring Carnival rides, food and merchant vendors, beverage tents, a parade, and fireworks show Saturday night. Runs Thursday through Sunday in Richmond.

-Rocking around the Hawk- Mini-music festival for kids 18 months-5 years old and their caregivers. DJ, face painting and more. Friday 10a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Farmington Hills.

-Kids Fishing Day- Families will have the opportunity to fish at the fishing pier in Founders Sports Park. Sunday 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. Farmington Hills.

-Story Festival at Ford House- Featuring hands on activities, live performances, and beloved books, on the historic Ford House Lakeview grounds. Saturday 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., Grosse Pointe Shores.

-Family skate party- Open to all ages and skate levels, Saturday, 3:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. Roller Cade Skating Rink, Detroit.
