Barley, BBQ & Beats to shake up Chelsea for a cause

Cocktails, tacos, live music power Arbor Hospice fundraiser

Barley, BBQ & Beats returns Sept. 11 at Revel Run, bringing craft cocktails, barbecue, classic cars and live music to benefit Arbor Hospice.

“We want people to come out, have a great time, and support end-of-life care for every person, every time in our community,” said Emily Olson, director of philanthropy for Arbor Hospice during an appearance on “Live In The D.”

Ann Arbor Distilling Company will pour seasonal cocktails, including a basil-kissed gimlet built on its Summer Gin. “It’s like we took the whole farmer’s market and distilled it into a bottle,” said bartender Calder Fong.

Zingerman’s Roadhouse will serve East Texas–style tacos and butterscotch pudding. “We just try to use very local ingredients,” said Taralyn Brinks, the Roadhouse’s catering manager.

Proceeds support Arbor Hospice’s open access program, providing compassionate end-of-life care regardless of age, diagnosis or insurance status.

Revel Run is located at 555 S. Dancer Rd., in Chelsea. The event runs from 5pm-9pm.
