New art installation blends fashion and traditional art

Cheryl Zemke has a new exhibition opening

She’s a fashion designer, artist, and runs a boutique in Wyandotte, and now Cheryl Zemke is bringing a new art installation to life at a gallery in Dearborn.

Zemke says she has created close to one hundred pieces of art the exhibition titled “Undercurrent.”

“The exhibit itself is inspired by the life of Marie Antoinette, but not the part that we normally know about her, but a little bit more in-depth about different things throughout her life and who she was and what she contributed outside of all the negative aspects of it,” Zemke said during an appearance on “Live In The D.”

Zemke’s exhibition will open at the Padzieski Art Gallery in Dearborn on Friday, Sept. 19th from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
