“Live in the D” put a spotlight on Detroit’s past, present and future Monday as producer, composer and engineer Jake Bass previewed the One Night Only Music Revue, set for Sept. 25 at The Crofoot in Pontiac.
“Our recording studio, FBT Studios, has so much local talent that’s coming in and out of that place every single day that I wanted to give those artists a platform to perform and showcase what they do,” Bass said on the show’s Music Monday segment.
The lineup includes Apropos, Mama Yaya, Better Unsaid, Dan Tillery, Drew Verde and Bass, among others. Better Unsaid offered a live taste with its single “Waist Down.”
Beyond the nostalgia nod to classic Motown revues, Bass said the night aims to inspire. “I want people to feel like you can achieve anything that you put your mind to, really, because all these artists, all these acts, they started from nothing, and they have something to show this world,” he said.
