The fall vibes are in full effect, and you might be looking to get outside and enjoy the vibrant colors of the season. So, where should you go?
Jill Halpin, the founder and chief beach officer with My Michigan Beach and Travel, appeared on “Live In The D” to share some suggestions.
Below you’ll find what she considers to be three must-visit spots:
Harrisville
The area is home to Sturgeon Point Lighthouse and Negwegon State Park. Visitors can enjoy views of Lake Huron.
Leland
Known as “Fishtown,” Halpin explained that Leland is an old fishing town. She said her favorite thing to do is stand at the bridge and watch the fish jumping.
U.S. 2
One way to enjoy the fall foliage is by taking a drive on U.S. 2 along the northern shore of Lake Michigan. This route features overlooks.
“Fall is hands down my favorite time to travel. It’s such a magical time. There’s more of a relaxed pace. There’s not as many crowds, the brilliant foliage and the blue skies. It’s just really a great time,” Halpin said.
