Detroit area celebrities will be grabbing the mic and showing off their lip syncing skills in a special competition that will help to make a difference for families facing cancer.
“Eight celebrities go for it. They get on stage and they compete on behalf of one of the families that we work with at New Day Foundation, so they’re competing on behalf of a cancer patient and their family,” explained Gina Kell Spehn, co-founder and president of the New Day Foundation for Families.
Kell Spehn explained that New Day Foundation for Families is an organization that provides financial assistance, emotional support, and financial navigation resources for families battling cancer.
“We’re bridging a gap for families who lose their income while they’re fighting for their life. And so our job is to make sure that they can stay medically compliant, that they’re able to thrive in the midst of their cancer journey and stay on track and not allow things like the cost of their home or utilities or transportation or food or any other thing to be a barrier to getting well and to getting treatment,” Kell Spehn said.
