The concept of “being duped” has transitioned from being a bad thing to possibly a good thing. Savvy manufacturers are creating affordable products, inspired by high-end brands.
Local 4 Lifestyle Editor Jon Jordan returned for this segment of “Live in the D” to expand on the dupe-able options.
Jon was on the show previously this week and did a dupe-dive on skincare. This time, he’s sharing the other product categories that can be duped.
From cleaning supplies to home decor, it has become easier to find products from high-end brands at a lower cost by investing in the dupe.
A category that is known for its duping is fashion. “Live in the D” intern Audrey Ash joined the segment to share her Amazon tote-bag, inspired by the brand Longchamp.
Jon shared the difference between the inspired-by dupes and counterfeit products. While dupes are harmless, both the selling and purchasing of counterfeit products can result in legal consequences.
