November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month and Lidia Vesterfelt from Michigan Humane joined “Live in the D” to share how a senior pet could be your perfect companion.
Lidia was accompanied by Spiderwick, a 7-year-old cat who is looking for his forever home.
Senior pets are fully grown, and their personality is established so what you see is what you get. If you are already past the housebreaking and crazy kitten years, a senior pet might be a better option for you.
At Michigan Humane, all senior pets are given a full medical and behavioral evaluation and often have medical work done before adoption. Lidia shares that you need to worry about is spoiling them.
Many senior pets are just looking for a quiet home and a person to love during their golden years, but they are often overlooked. She advises you to take a chance on a senior pet, you won’t regret it!
