They’re a dance company known for their impressive skills and grace, and this weekend the Dance Theatre of Harlem is bringing its show to Detroit.
Not only is it a chance to see the Dance Theatre of Harlem’s dynamic ballet performances, but Detroit is getting an exclusive first-look of “Firebird,” which hasn’t been performed in more than 20 years.
“Dance Theater of Harlem has always thought of Detroit as a second home,” said artistic director Robert Garland. “It always was a place that Arthur Mitchell, our founder, always loved to come because we actually had a summer intensive program running here for several years.”
The Dance Theatre of Harlem will be performing at the Detroit Opera House on Saturday, Nov. 15th and Sunday, Nov. 16th.
