Rudy’s Prime Steakhouse is celebrating its first anniversary in downtown Clarkston, a fine-dining reboot of a space that first opened as a market in 1933 and was acquired by the current owners in the early 1990s.
Executive chef Josh Stockton said the team long envisioned turning the storied address into an upscale destination, a vision realized when Rudy’s opened in 2024. “I think when you walk in, it’s inviting, but you also feel like you’re in a little bit of luxury, which is nice,” Stockton said.
The room is a mix of classic steakhouse - vaulted ceilings, brass accents, dark wood and dark green leather - while keeping the vibe relaxed. “You can sit at the bar in the lounge and sit there in a pair of shorts after you’re done golfing and have the same high-quality food that you can by sitting in the dining room,” Stockton said.
