What’s The Buzz: Holiday Travel Etiquette

The dos and don’ts of holiday travel

Holiday travel is just around the corner, so are you ready to keep your festive trip from turning frantic when you head to the airport?

AJ Williams from the Michigan Chronicle and comedian Dave Mishevitz joined “Live In The D” hosts Tati Amare and Kim DeGiulio to talk about some of the biggest travel etiquette mistakes people tend to make during the holidays.

“I think we get a little self focused,” AJ said.

She explained that everybody else is trying to get to their family too.

“So just kind of taking some time to just understand that everybody else has the same agenda I think is the thing that people just don’t pay attention to a lot,” AJ said.

Next, the group talked about how families with children and people traveling without kids can be mindful of each other in crowded airports or planes.

Tati said she thinks people get irritated when parents aren’t engaged with their kids during travel.

“I do give grace,” AJ said.

Kim shared that she thinks it’s okay to let the kids have screen time on planes.

Dave talked about how people need to make sure their luggage actually fits, especially if you’re traveling for the holidays. He suggests giving gift cards, instead of carrying presents through the airport and on the airplane.
