Lidia Vesterfelt with Michigan Humane stopped by “Live in the D,” with some advice to help the holidays stay happy and healthy for your pets. “So, holiday celebrations, a lot’s going on, it’s a lot different than, you know, regular times of the year.” Vesterfelt said a lot of people are coming over to your home that your pet might not usually see, and this can be stressful for them. She has the following tips to keep your pets safe.

-Keep human food away from pets- Be careful of what drops on the floor where they can get to it.

-Create a safe space for them- Give them space, crowding pets can cause stress.

-Watch for signs of stress- Signs of stress can include, stiffening, lip licking, hiding, panting, or shaking.
