From winter fun to classic musicals, there’s lots to do this weekend

Here’s a list of fun happenings around metro Detroit

As we head into the second weekend of 2026, the “Live in the D” team chatted about some fun happenings in metro Detroit.

Here’s a list of some events for adults and kiddos:

-The Ultimate Fishing Show- Great for those who enjoy fishing or the great outdoors. There will be live seminars, boat sales, a trout pond, where kids can fish, and more.

Happening Thursday, January 8th through Sunday, January 11th at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi.

-Winter Park at Bowers Farms- Guests will enjoy tubing, cozy bonfires, treats, a hay stack with slide, visiting the animals, and more.

Happening Fridays through Sundays until March 1st at Bowers Farms in Bloomfield Hills.

-Snowfort Jazz Festival- A Disco for kids ages 18 months to 5 years old, and their caregivers. There will be dancing and fun kids activities.

Happening Friday, January 9th from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at The Hawk in Farmington Hills.

-All Shook Up- Stage play featuring music from Elvis Presley.

Happening now through February 1st at Meadow Book Theatre at Oakland University.

-Hairspray the Musical- The production will honor the original musical with tunes from the classic play.

Happening Thursday, January 8th through Sunday, January 11th at the Village Theater at Cherry Hill in Canton Township.
