If you’ve been looking for a smart, stylish way to refresh your closet, without emptying your wallet, this event is for you. The “Revamp” is changing the conversation around fashion by bringing community, sustainability, and most importantly - style - together.
The founder of Revamp, Amanda Sweet, stopped by Live in the D, to chat about the event and show off some fashion ideas for those looking to save money. “The Revamp Clothing Swap Festival is a quarterly festival put on by a group of volunteers that ask our community to bring all of the stuff that you don’t wear anymore.” Sweet said people bring in tons of clothing and other fashions, that are laid out on tables for others to shift through. The fashions have a wide range, and come in all sizes, and are for all genders.
In addition to the clothing swap, there will be a fashion show, music, and other fun activities, but what’s really great about the event, is the community impact. “The last swap, we swapped over 13,000 pounds of clothes in a single day, so all of that stuff is saved from the landfill.” Sweet said then at the end, anything left over goes to non-profits throughout metro Detroit.
Revamp takes place, Saturday, January 17, from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Southfield Pavilion on Evergreen in the city of Southfield.
