From fast drivers in the slow lane to people who don’t clear snow off their cars, the do’s and don’ts of winter driving was the topic of discussion during the What’s The Buzz segment on “Live In The D.”
Comedians Melanie Hearn and Dave Mishevitz joined the conversation with “Live In The D” hosts Tati Amare and Kim DeGiulio.
First, the group talked about the biggest winter driving etiquette mistakes they see on the road.
“It’s the people that switch lanes for me... and then slam on your brakes. It’s a winter snowstorm. Stay in your lane. Literally, stay in your lane,” Melanie said.
Melanie also mentioned drivers who turn too slow. Tati admitted that she’s one of those drivers.
Tati said she gets stressed out when people in big vehicles go flying down the lanes.
Mike has an all-wheel drive vehicle and thinks that should be the case for everyone.
“All-wheel drive should be like the law first and foremost. But also you dudes in the four-wheel drive cars that are going two miles an hour, you should have stayed home. You’re not using your vehicle. Getting passed by the Mustang guy should not be happening right now,” Mike said.
The group also talked about snow removal and cleaning off your entire car so snow doesn’t fly off your vehicle while you’re driving.
“I always think that my windshield wipers are going to take care of it, and then it doesn’t,” Kim said.
The conversation ended with the group sharing their top winter road rules for staying safe and respectful.
Dave said to give yourself ten extra minutes, no matter what.
“I say slow down. Just slow down. It’s okay to go the speed limit when it’s snowing outside,” Tati chimed in.
