It’s cold outside in metro Detroit, and lately, many schools have been closed due to the extreme temps. If you’re home with the kids, this may be the perfect excuse to slow things down a bit, and whip up a cozy, feel-good meal that warms you up.
Chef David Parker from Host Utica, stopped by Live in the D, to teach a few tricks in the kitchen. “I’m gonna do a spin on Hong Kong French toast. It’s usually traditionally white bread, peanut butter, honey, and then you’ll batter that in like an egg custard. Then we’ll kind of build and show you how to do that, but I put my own spin on it. We do a honey Creme Brule with a little strawberry on there,” Parker said. This is just one of the brunch items on the menu at Host Utica, which serves brunch 7 days a week.
