Kids can learn to shred at this indoor ski and snowboard school

Shredder is located in Livonia

Learning how to ski or snowboard can be a little intimidating, especially for kids, but one Michigan dad is taking the cold, the snow, and the pressure out of the process.

Shredder is an indoor ski and snowboard school in Livonia. Mikey Duffield brought Shredder to Michigan from Colorado.

“This is definitely a passion project. I’m formerly a structural engineer, so I kind of turned my professional career into my side hustle to get this going because I’ve been snowboarding for 25 years, now skiing for five,” Mikey said.

“Live In The D” host Kim DeGiulio took her 2-year-old son, Blake, to learn to ski indoors at Shredder.

It all started with some fun courses. Then, it was time to put on the gear.

Next, Mikey pulled Blake on a flat surface while Blake worked on his skier stance. It didn’t take long for Blake to get the hang of it, and then he was ready to go downhill and show off his new skills.

Shredder Livonia has winter sessions going on right now for kids, summer camps kicking off in June, and they even host birthday parties. It’s not just for the kids, adults can take private lessons too.
