Yakult helps add more probiotics to your daily routine

Company highlights decades of research, citrusy taste and easy, anytime routine

Probiotics have gone mainstream, and Yakult says it’s ready to make a daily habit simple, tasty and science backed.

“Yakult was actually an early pioneer in the probiotics field. We were originally established in Japan in 1935,” said Rudy Lara, branch manager for Yakult USA, during a segment on Live in the D.

Lara pointed to Yakult’s signature probiotic strain and global footprint as key differentiators. “What sets Yakult apart is a probiotic strain, which is backed by decades of research,” he said, adding that “many people in the U.S. may also know Yakult from their travels abroad, as it is now available in 40 countries and regions around the world.”

Yakult produces five-packs of 2.7-ounce bottles for the U.S. and Canada, and Lara said the company operates a U.S. factory to meet demand. As for how to fit probiotics into an everyday routine, Lara kept it simple: “We recommend drinking one or two bottles daily.” He added that Yakult “can be enjoyed anytime, during or after a meal,” and works as an on-the-go snack.

Taste matters, too. “It’s a fresh citrus taste,” Lara said, noting the drink’s simple ingredients and broad appeal.

Shoppers can find Yakult at major retailers including Meijer, Kroger and Walmart. “Look for them in the yogurt aisle,” Lara said. To watch the segment, click on the video above. For more information or to find a nearby store, visit yakultusa.com.
