Masters Roofing: Roofing with a personal touch

Local company builds its business on service, trust, and neighborhood ties

Masters Roofing is leaning into service and neighborhood ties as it grows in Metro Detroit’s crowded roofing market, owner Rhett Stahovec said during an appearance on Live in the D.

“I’ve always believed in making relationships and providing the best service,” Stahovec said. “Over the last couple years, I’ve seen a huge shift in the roofing industry. It used to be an experience. Now, for a lot of companies, it’s just a transaction.”

Stahovec, who started the company with longtime colleagues who share his values, said Masters Roofing is in its second full year and building on momentum from last season. “We wanted to create a company off what we really believed in,” he said, noting that the team’s systems and standard operating procedures are built to “deliver the best product and the best service instead of just feeling like a number.”

With Michigan’s weather swinging from high heat to deep cold - and spring windstorms in between - Stahovec urged homeowners to stay proactive. “If your roof is 15 years or older, get a free inspection,” he said. “Any reliable company should offer free inspections and give you honest feedback on what’s going on.”

To underscore its community focus, Masters Roofing is running a giveaway that allows people to nominate a friend in need of a new roof through the company’s website. “We really want to put our money where our mouth is when we say we’re about our neighbors,” Stahovec said. If the nominee is selected, he said, they’ll receive a free roof installed to code, and the person who nominated them will get a complimentary gutter job.
