Celebrate Earth Month at the Detroit Zoo

Zoo is hosting two Earth Month-themed events

April is Earth Month, and the Detroit Zoo is celebrating with two events that visitors are invited to attend.

First up, guests can experience Greenfest, presented by Consumers Energy, at the Detroit Zoo. The event will feature a sustainable marketplace and food trucks. Guests will also be able to take home Zoo Poo, which is nutrient-rich compost made with waste from the animals at the Detroit Zoo.

Greenfest is happening from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 11th and Sunday, April 12th.

The Detroit Zoo is also going green in a different way — by hosting its annual E-Recycling event. It’s an opportunity for people to recycle electronics such as TVs, monitors, and computers, along with cell phones, tablets, and more. The E-Recycling event will be held on April 18th and 19th from 9 a.m. until noon at Detroit Zoo’s 10 Mile Road parking lot.
