Pastor Returns Home After Attack

Police Search For Attacker

HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. – A pastor who was stabbed more than 30 times when his home was broken into is back home.

The Rev. Kevin Rambsy was released from the hospital on Wednesday.

Police said Rambsy confronted an intruder in his home on California Street in Highland Park earlier this month. After struggling with the intruder, he was stabbed several times in the face, arms and abdomen.

Ramsby was stabbed in his face, arms and abdomen.

Rambsy is the pastor of the Revival Tabernacle Assembly of God located at Six Mile Road and Woodward Avenue.

Neighbors said the attack was around 3 a.m. They told Local 4 they were awakened by Rambsy's screams. He crawled out of the home and screamed for help.

Neighbor said he was yelling out in pain and to his wife, telling her that he loved her.

"I've heard that he's sustained over 30 stab wounds," neighbor A.J. McGhee told Local 4. "They told me his intestines were hanging out at the same time. So, it was really brutal."

McGhee said he's lived in the neighborhood for 40 years and has never heard of any kind of violent break-in.

"Significant resources from Highland Park police, contributions from the Michigan State Police and the City of Detroit are being directed to investigate this crime, locate and arrest the perpetrator(s) of this outrageous act of violence in our community," said Highland Park Mayor Hubert Yopp.
