DETROIT – Joey Harrington made a quick joke about his time spent as quarterback for the Detroit Lions while being interviewed by a Portland TV station.
Harrington was all smiles Monday, just weeks after being seriously hurt while riding his bike in Portland, Ore. At a concert to benefit the Harrington Family Foundation, the former Lion mentioned he was used to getting hit.

"I was laying in the ER there ... I'm in the neck brace, on the board, and just saying, 'Get me out of here,'" Harrington told Portland's NewsChannel 8. "I kind of whispered to one of the trauma doctors and said, 'I played four years in Detroit, you know I can handle a car.'"
Harrington, 33, was hospitalized with a broken collar bone, a punctured lung and a cut on his head after he was hit from behind by a vehicle.
He is currently working for Fox Sports as a radio analyst in Portland.
