Penobscot Building's Red Ball Light Is Back
DETROIT – After nearly five years of remaining unlit atop the Penobscot Building, the iconic red ball made its comeback Thursday night.
The red ball had become a mainstay for the building and the city's skyline. But the landmark red beacon was out of commission for nearly five years.
Thursday's lighting is part of a $1.5 million renovation of the building.
