Group Says Maggots Found On Michigan Senior Patients Rights Organization Says State Found Maggots On Patients In 2 Cases
DETROIT – A senior rights organization said maggots were found on senior patients during recent state inspections of nursing homes in southeast Michigan.
The group said a Sept. 20 state report says maggots were infesting an elderly woman's wound in the catheter area.
The group said a second report in August says an Oakland County senior had his airway blocked by maggots.
The state of Michigan has not immediately released these reports, but Local 4 has requested the documents and will investigate further.
