Residents are encouraged to participate in the event by bringing mobile stereos.

Volunteers are given one of four tracks from Kline's Unsilent Night, which are meant to be played simultaneously.  Passersby hear different variations of the composition by walking through the performance. RingSide Creative, an Integrated Media Studio, located in Oak Park, is organizing the event for the second time.

"It's a great night in the city," said Jay Scott, audio director at RingSide Creative.

"Phil's composition brings together acoustics, architecture and people. It's music that makes you smile."

The free public performance begins Friday, Dec. 9 at 7:00 p.m. at 1515 Broadway in Detroit.  More information is available at www.ringsidecreative.com or at (248) 548-2500.  Volunteers may RSVP by contacting unsilentnight@ringsidecreative.com.
