DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. – A fight during the last game of the 2011 football season has led to felony charges for four players from Star Academy in Dearborn Heights.

The charges stem from the final moments of the final game of the season on Oct. 21.
Police said the game between Star Academy and Westland Lutheran High School was nearly over with Westland Lutheran leading 47-6.
The quarterback for Lutheran planned to touch his knee to the ground to end the game. Police said game officials knew this and instructed teams not to have contact after the snap. But players from Star Academy, according to police, went after the quarterback, knocking him to the ground and kicking him.
The quarterback suffered a concussion.
Dearborn Heights police conducted a lengthy investigation before the filing of charges this week.
