Two killed in Westland mobile home fire Friday Husband, wife killed in fire
WESTLAND, Mich. – The home in the Westland meadows mobile home park went up so fast; the husband and wife inside never had a chance to make it out.
Smoke inhalation likely snuffed them out, their positions in the home showed, they even never made a run for it
The cause - based on the burn patterns, careless smoking - a mobile home's worst enemy…
The deputy chief of the fire department says this is a good reminder that smoke detectors are critical in every home, in numerous places in that home. Chances are if this mobile home did have working smoke detectors, the couple inside would have been alerted to the fire before the smoke killed them.
