Police search for escaped prisoner in Detroit

Inamte escaped Thursday from Wayne County Jail personnel

DETROIT – The search continues for a prisoner who escaped in Detroit.

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office said 18-year-old Kcajun Juromill Burton fled a transport van on Thursday when jail personnel were transitioning another inmate into the vehicle.

The escape happened on the city's west side near Interstate 94 and Livernois Avenue.

Burton was described as a black man standing about 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighing about 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing handcuffs, a white shirt, white socks and green pants.

He is wanted for armed robbery and breaking and entering. Police said Burton was involved in a robbery this past fall at a home on Detroit's west side. Surveillance video from the robbery shows a man wearing a grey and red hooded sweatshirt carry a flat-screen TV away from the home. Police said that was Burton.

Michigan State Police are aiding in the search. The Sheriff's Office said if anyone sees Burton they should be cautious and call police immediately.
