7 People hurt in crash

A chaotic scene on Detroit's west side Sunday night as police and EMS race to pull seven people trapped inside two cars.

"It just scared me. I was just sitting right here and it scared me real bad," said witness Chanita Vincent.

The crash happened in the 9600 hundred block of Mendota Sunday night. According to police, the elderly driver of a GMC Envoy lost control and slammed into a Ford Taurus that was parked in a driveway with six people inside. The force from the crash pushed the Taurus across the lawn and into a neighbor's porch. Vincent was inside the house when the car hit the house.

"It was like six people in the car. They were just sitting right there and he hit the car and it was tragic when I came outside to see this. When I looked through the blinds I didn't see anything. I heard them screaming and that's when I came outside and saw the car up against the house," said Vincent.

All seven people were transported to the hospital, four people have been released, and three remain hospitalized.

Police are not sure what caused the crash, an investigation is underway.
