DETROIT – Nike has unveiled what the Detroit Lions will be suiting up in when they hit the gridiron this season.

With Nike taking over all the apparel and equipment for the NFL- including team jerseys- the Lions will see very little change.
The Lions changed their logo in 2009 which means they are still under the NFL five-year rule that prohibits any changes to the uniforms.
While other NFL teams are expected to see new uniforms, the Lions will not be able to see any changes until 2014.
However, the Lions will see a change in their pants. Their pants will no longer be a shimmering silver but, instead, a duller gray. Also, the blue stripe on the side of the pants will no longer be separate material--it will be woven in with the pants.
All NFL teams will be sporting "Nike Speed Machine" uniforms that are made from state-of-the-art four-way stretch mesh-- two times stronger than last years jerseys.
