Four customers, who suffer from peanut allergies, reported severe allergic reactions to the drink. It's a bit of a mystery because Odwalla says the beverage does not contain peanuts or tree nut ingredients
Odwalla is working with the FDA to determine what caused the severe reactions.
In the meantime- the recall is being launched as a precautionary measure.
It involves 12 ounce and 32 bottles of the drink, with "Enjoy By" dates of May 23, 2012.
The 12-ounce bottles are also available in variety packs sold at Costco stores.
The company says people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts and/or tree nuts may run the risk of a serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume the drink.
