DETROIT – Kids Opening Day is Sunday, April 8 as the Tigers wrap up their Opening Weekend series against the Boston Red Sox at 1:05 p.m. All kids 14-and-younger will receive an "Every Kid, Every Sunday" Building Block Calendar, compliments of Little Caesars. Twenty-three Kids Opening Day contest winners who were selected from an essay contest will participate in Kids Opening Day in a variety of roles including honorary starting lineup announcer, honorary radio broadcast announcer and honorary groundskeeper. Additionally, the Easter Bunny will be hop, hop, hopping around Comerica Park in celebration of Easter Sunday and the first 200 kids will get a free photo with him!
Kids Opening Day marks the first Sunday Kids Day promotion of the season. All Sunday home games are Kids Days at Comerica Park. All kids 14-and-younger will receive a free promotional item as part of the "Every Kid, Every Sunday" giveaway guarantee, can enjoy free rides courtesy of Kroger on the Comerica Bank Carousel or the Fly Ball Ferris Wheel, can take part in free face painting, have the chance to win a bicycle and are invited down to the field for Kids Run the Bases courtesy of Aquafina and Meijer following the game.
