DETROIT – President Barack Obama landed in metro Detroit Wednesday for two fundraising events.

Air Force One touched down about 4:20 p.m. Wednesday at the airport in Romulus. Obama greeted about 50 well-wishers before leaving in a motorcade for Dearborn.
The Democratic president plans to attend an evening event at the Henry Ford museum in Dearborn, followed by an appearance at the Bingham Farms home of Denise Ilitch.

She's the daughter of Mike and Marian Ilitch, owners of Little Caesar's Pizza, the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers.

Democrats hope to raise $1 million through the two events.

Obama's previous visit to Michigan was in January when he spoke about higher education funding at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
