Roseville funeral home owners sentenced after being convicted of stealing Mark, Lisa Buehler to spend 5 years each on probation, continue to make monthly payments to victims
ROSEVILLE, Mich. – The couple who ran a funeral home in Roseville was sentenced Thursday after pleading guilty to stealing from their customers' pre-paid funeral funds.
Mark and Lisa Buehler pleaded guilty to taking more than $300,000 from dozens of customers who pre-paid for services at their funeral home - the Buehler Funeral Home. Prosecutors said the couple were spending the money to buy cars, televisions and other electronics.
Dozens of remains were found uncared for and left abandoned in the building's basement .
The couple's sentencing was initially set for last August, but a judge delayed it so they could save up money for restitution.
When asked for a comment from Local 4, Mark Buehler said, "I can't say anything to you because you re-edit it."
