Police: No serious injuries suffered in Detroit school bus crash
School bus, vehicle collide at Plymouth, Meyers roads in Detroit
DETROIT – A school bus and another vehicle collided Wednesday afternoon at Plymouth and Meyers roads in west Detroit.
There are injuries. Multiple EMS units are at the crash. Children from the bus and the driver of the other vehicle suffered injuries.
The bus belongs to ABC Student Transportation.
Detroit Public Schools Executive Director Jennifer Mrozowski told Local 4 the bus was on ABC's Route 626 which services Detroit Mackenzie Elementary School. Thirteen students were on board the bus at the time of the crash.
Mrozowski said a preliminary report shows there were no serious injuries.
Witnesses tell Local 4 a 17-year-old driver was heading north on Meyers Road when her vehicle struck the bus. The teen driver had to be pulled from the vehicle after the crash.
Police say students suffered some bumps, cuts and bruises but there were no serious injuries. They were treated at the crash and allowed to go home with parents.
