McCauley was arrested at Long's Mobile Home Court in Wayne County's Redford Township, west of Detroit.
Police Sgt. Kevin Crittenden says a court officer saw a woman's remains on a sofa after going to the trailer to serve an eviction. The woman is identified as 72-year-old Ann Marquis, who is believed to have died in November. Preliminary autopsy results reveal she died of natural causes.
Police say they believe McCauley lived with Marquis for about three years.
