DETROIT – Michigan State Police troopers fanned out across a neighborhood on Detroit's west side Saturday night to search for a pair of suspects who fled from a stolen van.
Troopers had spotted a van reported stolen as it drove on the Southfield Freeway. Troopers pursued the van into a neighborhood area and attempted to pin the van between two cruisers on Penrod Street, south of Joy Road.

As one of the cruisers became stuck on a rock, the van stopped short of hitting a tree and two men jumped out and ran. Other troopers arrived at the scene to search for the suspects.
The search continued into the late night. A helicopter with a searchlight was called on to assist.
No troopers were injured.
