Man found dead at Ferndale motel

FERNDALE, Mich. – Ferndale police are waiting for autopsy results after man was found dead inside his room at the Royal Inn Motel on 8 Mile Road.

Police were called to the motel Sunday night because of a strong odor coming from one of the rooms. They found a 61-year-old man dead just outside the room's bathroom.

The motel manager says the man had not been seen in a couple days.

Foul play does not appear to be a factor in his death.

Police are investigating. They hope autopsy results give a cause of death.
