West Bloomfield teacher pleads not guilty to sexual conduct charge
High school teacher Stephen Larkin accused of sexually assaulting 16-year-old student
WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. – West Bloomfield High School teacher Stephen Larkin pleaded not guilty Friday to three misdemeanor counts of criminal sexual conduct in the fourth degree.
The history and social studies teacher is accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old 10th-grade girl last May during an after school one-on-one tutoring session in a classroom.
After the alleged assault the student and her parents told school administrators and the school contacted police. The warrants were not signed in the case until Thursday.
Mr. Larkin has not been in the classroom since May. District officials placed him on paid administrative leave. He's been with the district since 2006.
In addition to his teaching duties, Mr. Larkin is listed as a girl's golf coach at West Bloomfield High School.
