DETROIT – A fire broke out Tuesday afternoon at the Westin Book Cadillac Hotel in downtown Detroit, sending some black smoke across the downtown landscape.
Firefighters rushed to get control of the flames which were coming from the kitchen at one of the restaurants at the hotel on Washington Boulevard.

No one was injured. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames.
The hotel had to be evacuated.
The hotel's Twitter handle was giving updates throughout the fire. According to the Twitter feed, the grease fire was inside the Roast restaurant kitchen. It sustained minor smoke and water damage.
