'Cooking Channel' chef to make stop in Michigan for southern cooking

Chef Gerry Garvin is making a stop in Michigan for a taste of the South as part of the third season of "Road Trip with G. Garvin" on the Cooking Channel.

The new season, which premiered last month, takes on a culinary expedition through 13 episodes exploring some of the best Southern-inspired cuisine the country has to offer.  Whether New York or Michigan, Hawaii or Connecticut, Garvin -- An acclaimed cookbook author and larger-than-life personality -- discovers the hidden gems behind some of the cities' best eats.

Episode featuring Ann Arbor premieres June 11

Garvin's first stop is Grange Kitchen & Bar, a local eatery that is serving up southern fried specialties like fried pig head and deep fried apple pie. Then it's off to Zingerman's Roadhouse, where they combine two Southern classics in one, with their Fried Chicken Mac n' Cheese. 

Garvin wraps? things up at Ron's Road House to taste some of their deliciously smoked BBQ sandwiches and sides.

The episode airs at 9 p.m. on the Cooking Channel.
