Gilbert's Lodge in St. Clair Shores to reopen after 2 fires

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. – Gilbert's Lodge in St. Clair Shores is celebrating its reopening after it was damaged twice by fires.

Last October, Gilbert's Lodge suffered major damage by a fire that blazed through the entire kitchen and seating area. The major rebuild and restoration from the October fire was just weeks from completion when a second fire broke out May 22 in the mechanical room, causing smoke and water damage.

"We are thrilled to be opening again. We miss our customers and this community," said owner Louie Bricolas.

Renovations include a state of the art kitchen with pizza ovens, a fully restored horseshoe bar with five new 70-inch HD TVs, and an updated Trophy Room for hosting special events. A year-round outdoor patio wraps around the building with fire pits, fireplace and pine trees.

Established in 1963, Gilbert's Lodge is known for its hunting lodge décor and angus beef burgers. The eatery will continue to offer American fare food and a large cold beer selection featuring over 50 varieties of beer.
