TROY, Mich. – Troy firefighters rescued a driver late Tuesday night whose SUV went airborne and crashed on top of a row of Cadillacs that were on display at a dealership.
In a statement, the fire department said the crash happened just after 11 p.m. at the Suburban Cadillac dealership in the Troy Motor Mall on Maplelawn Street. The driver had to be cut out of a black Ford SUV after it left the road, went airborne and flipped onto several of the parked display cars.

"I believe he was actually sleeping or passed out at the time we first arrived," said Troy Police Sgt. Andy Breidenich.
Breidenich said the driver was taken to a hospital and a warrant will be submitted to test his blood.
"Alcohol in the air. You can smell alcohol, liquor from the compartment area," Breidenich said.
