Sylvia Majewska accused of killing Daryne Gailey, Charley Hendrick

PONTIAC, Mich. – A 65-year-old woman who authorities say slashed her son's throat and then fatally beat her 7-month-old granddaughter will undergo a competency evaluation.
The decision was made Thursday during a pre-exam hearing for Sylvia Majewska. Her next court hearing is March 2.
"For whatever reason she came to the conclusion that the son and the child would be better off if they weren't alive, sadly," said Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard.
He said investigators found several handwritten notes and other documents in the case.
Bouchard also said Majewska tried to kill herself by slashing her arms.
People in the neighborhood can't believe this would happen to a man they knew as a devoted new father.
