Lineup for Detroit's 2015 'Movement' electronic music festival announced
Paxahau's Movement performances set for Memorial Day
DETROIT – The phase one lineup for this year's Movement Electronic Music Festival at Detroit's Hart Plaza has been announced.
The annual festival takes place Memorial Day weekend, May 23 - 25.
Movement 2015 will feature headline performances by techno artist Richie Hawtin, legendary Snoop Dogg as DJ Snoopadelic, and Boys Noize and Skrillex as Dog Blood, among more than a hundred others.
This year will be the 10th edition of the three-day event hosting both local artists and internationally renowned DJs.
"This year's lineup is a diverse group of legends, underground heroes and rising talent who have all been inspired by Detroit and its musical legacy at some point in their career," said Paxahau Event's artist coordinator, Chuck Flask. "We're very excited to have the likes of Loco Dice, Dixon, DJ Snoopadelic, Carl Craig, Dog Blood, Disclosure and many local favorites, performing in the heart of the city we love most, on Memorial Day weekend."
The independent music festival along Detroit's riverfront features six outdoor stages, VIP venue behind the main stage, several art displays, and dozens of official after-parties.
More than 107,000 people from around the world attended the 2014 festival.
"Detroit sets the tone for the world," said Paxahau's founder and festival director, Jason Huvaere.
