DETROIT – There have been two separate cases involving threats against police recently. Federal agents took a metro Detroit man into custody for comments posted online.
Detroit police arrested two people for painting graffiti of an angel pointing a gun at an officer.
Alvaro Eduardo Guzman-Telles, 29, allegedly posted on Facebook as Ed Goozand. According the U.S. Attorney's Office, a sample of what he wrote online included, "I'm going to personally kill and behead Daniel Pantaleo," referring to a police officer involved in the death of Michael Garner in New York City.
On a separate occasion, Guzman-Telles allegedly posted, "Kill all cops on sight, no matter the circumstances."
His father spoke Wednesday night to Local 4 News and believes the situation has been overblown. He said his son has Asperger's syndrome and does not understand that these kinds of postings are inappropriate.
Guzman-Telles' father adds his son is nonviolent with no arrest record and that he and his son's mother told him to delete them.
While that winds its way through the court, Detroit police arrested two people for allegedly vandalizing the YouthVille Building in Detroit with a mural showing an angel pointing a gun at a police offcer.
Marcelus Gray, 19, of Lathrup Village, and Taylor Daramy, of Southfield, have been charged with the vandalism.
