ROMULUS, Mich. – Clerks at a gas station in Romulus are hoping to find the owner of a special pair of eyeglasses that was accidentally left behind two weeks ago.
"He came in and used our bathroom and lost is glasses. He came back in looking for his glasses and we told him we couldn't find them," Marathon station clerk Renee Smigel said.
Later that same day, someone turned the glasses in to the station, which is on Ecorse and Inkster roads. But it was too late, the man had already left.
"He was very upset. He was with his wife. He couldn't drive home. His wife had to drive him home," Smigel said.
The man told the clerks he's blind on the left side of each eye, and that the glasses were made specifically for him.
Other than the fact that he's from Canada, the clerks don't know anything else about the man.
"We are sad that we didn't get his number anything," Smigel said.
Smigel and fellow clerk Amanda Delisle have been posted about the glasses on social media with the hope that the man, or someone who knows him, will see them.
"I have a lot friends and family in Canada, all throughout Canada. I figured if they can help share it too. We will get the word out and try to find this man," Delisle said.
